About me
Hello, fellow passenger of Life, I am so glad you are here!
I'm a registered social worker and psychotherapist in Ontario, Canada. My focus is on helping those dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, parenting, and issues related to health and aging.
After moving my life from Asia to North America and progressing from teaching to psychotherapy, I know well that we all have the power to create an authentic and fulfilling life. My goal is to support you on your path for personal recovery and development, so you can live by your values, enjoy meaningful connections in your relationships, and begin to cope and overcome life's challenges.
Safety and connection are the things I value most in my work; I believe humans are hard-wired for connection. Although it sometimes lets in the possibility of getting hurt, it is also how we build our resilience. I trust we always have the opportunity to heal.
MY LIFE
On a more personal note, I was born and raised in China and set up life in Canada as an adult. I have practiced expertise working with immigrants, children of immigrants, and international students. I enjoy facilitating cross-cultural communication and exploring experiences that are tied to our identities.
In addition to my clinical practice, I am passionate about the well-being of older adults and their families. I am involved in several community initiatives dedicated to immigrant seniors. In 2019, I advocated in my city, Richmond Hill, to adopt its first Age-friendly Community policy. I am also a strong advocate of anti-racism, anti-ageism and social justice. Since 2022, I have served as a board member for Chinese Age-Well Research and Education, a non-profit organization that serves older adults belonging to the Chinese community.
Outside of work, I enjoy swimming and cooking because both have meditative power that helps me return to the present moment. Having worked as a Mandarin teacher, I am also intrigued by how language and culture shape the human mind.

Land Acknowledgement
I respectfully acknowledge that the land I am working and living on is the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples and that Toronto is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. Writing this is not enough, and we must continue to work towards decolonization, educating ourselves, and acknowledging the past.
